It seems that that the closer we get to the highly anticipated release of the iPhone 8, the more information about other, seemingly-reputable smartphones continue to pop up. I mean, I'm not suggesting it's strategic on behalf of competing tech companies. In fact, in this instance specifically, I'm certain it's entirely coincidental. The phone I'm about to school ya'll on isn't even available in The United States — ugh. However, if you happen to live in one of the 40 countries it is available in, have at it! Why? Because in comparison to the price of a brand new iPhone, they're practically giving it away! As per Tech Insider —
"The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi unveiled its newest smartphone: the Mi A1. Billed as the company's flagship dual-camera phone, the Mi A1 costs about $235 and is powered by Android One, a stock version of Google's smartphone operating system built for lower-end phones."
$235.00?! Has the iPhone ever been that inexpensive? I don't think so. Currently, the iPhone 8 stands to go for upwards of $1,000.00. Let thank sink in for a second. This Mi A1 is a CLONE of the iPhone 7 and it's going for a mere fraction of that! Tech Insider continues with some notable comparisons —
Xiaomi's Mi A1 comes in three colors: black, gold, and rose gold. The iPhone 7 comes in these same colors plus two more: silver and jet black.
The Mi A1 has a 5.5-inch display — the same size as the iPhone 7 Plus' — and an entirely metal body, also like the iPhone 7.
Also like the iPhone 7 Plus, the Mi A1 features a dual-lens camera system comprising a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens.
