Resident Evil 5
What’s it about? How's this for a masterstroke of storytelling alchemy: Resident Evil 5 will feature a sizzling female sidekick, volcanoes, hugely racist undertones and a humanity-threatening virus that can be nuked into submission with lots and lots of very big guns.
Coolest feature? A couple, actually. Developers Capcom have expanded heavily on the "Shit me I've got acid in my eye!" sense of physicality that worked so well with games like BioShock and Haze. What does that mean? Mirages and hallucinations will make you dizzy - even in a Lazyboy. Also, main character Chris Redfield's eyes will have to adjust slightly as he moves between bright and dark surroundings, providing handy interludes for fistfuls of salty snacks.
When can I buy it? It’s out on March 13 for PS3 and Xbox 360.
