FHM’s 100 Greatest Games of All Time

Posted by , 15 June 2009

Viewtiful Joe

Year: 2003
Platform: GameCube

Why it’s a classic: A side-scrolling beat-‘em-up? In the 21st Century? Yup. Following the same principles as classics like Streets of Rage and Kung-Fu Master, this threw comic-book visuals and incredible slow-motion super-powers into the mix, to extraordinary effect.

Best bit: Slowing down time to pull off a 10-hit combo, watching your enemy slowly disintegrating as you go.
