What’s it about? Remember that movie Wanted from last summer? Probably not. But you should certainly recall the image of Angelina Jolie leaning out of a speeding sports car and firing a shotgun. And Wanted: Weapons of Fate picks up where the film left off. Minus Angelina Jolie. You play infinitely unlikeable assassin Wesley Gibson, playing through levels of gore-centric third-person gunplay.

Coolest feature? The game’s attempt to be as film-like as possible is endearing, especially the curving bullets. The action and visuals are a success, meaning that ridiculous fan-pleasing slo-motion theatrics aside, it’s a surprisingly guilty pleasure. Not great, not terrible. Like West Ham.

When? It’s out right now, for Xbox 360, PC and Playstation 3.
