What’s it about? You play tattooed assassin Rubi Malone, voiced by and loosely modelled on Buffy star Eliza Dushku. Essentially, you’re a pre-menstrual Lara Croft, armed with two big guns, a massive sword and very little time for anyone who gets in your way. The game’s presented in the slightly tired B-movie styling of films like Death Proof, and looks to be borrowing plenty from Devil May Cry and Stranglehold in terms of gameplay.
Coolest feature? Something called “Rage Mode”. As seen in the video below, it slows down time and turns everything all red and white, like a Frank Miller graphic novel. It’s a fairly shallow addition, and you’ll find something similar in most third-person shooters these days. But few that look as cool as this.
When? It's out for Xbox 360 and PS3 on September 18.
