FHM’s 100 Greatest Games of All Time

Posted by , 15 June 2009

Wipeout

Year: 1995
Platform: PlayStation

Why it’s a classic: For a game created primarily to show off the graphical capabilities of Sony’s debut console, this futuristic racer was surprisingly difficult to put down. Visually groundbreaking and addictive like crack. Splendid.

Best bit: Eye-melting action aside, this was the first game to boast a properly awesome soundtrack. Remember doing your victory dance to the likes of Chemical Brothers, New Order and The Prodigy?
