FHM’s 100 Greatest Games of All Time

Zool

Year: 1992
Platform: Amiga

Why it’s a classic: Why? Because you play a green-skinned, laser-firing ninja. That’s why. And with brilliant level design and some truly memorable bosses, this is easily FHM’s favourite floppy-disc platformer, bar none.

Best bit: The brilliantly postmodern moment that sees you jumping about on an arcade cabinet, controlling a miniature version of yourself.

One of my earliest memories is of Zool and Zool 2. I was only a tyke but this game still impresses me.
