Atari Lynx – somebody had to get this ball rolling
If you’re old enough to remember going to the cinema in 1989 – to see Back To The Future 2, obviously – you’ll remember being blown away by ads for the first, full-colour handheld games console. The Lynx looked the stuff of dreams, and fantasies of gaming on the crapper or in the car made you covet this slab of plastic in a way that bordered on indecent. It sold less than 500,000 units. It was rubbish.
