You can’t inhabit a living space like this, and then whip out an iPod to get the hits going. Nobody would take you seriously. Instead, you’ll want a tube amplifier vinyl setup, which can be put together for anything from £300 upwards. To do this, you’ll need either a genuine passion for vinyl music, or a mate who has, and is happy to spend your money for you. The flipside, obviously, is that the ubiquitous iTunes menus mean any rogue visitor can hijack your sound.
