What is it?
It’s a mobile DJ kit that lets you mix tracks using MP3 files. You can stash 60 or 120GB of your most obscure tunes ready for mixing into your favourite ABBA album, if the urge should grab you. Music can be inputted to the two channels, ready for you to start playing. There’s a touch sensitive crossfader bar to bring the new songs in, and a large touchpad for navigating the functions and, of course, scratching.
Why you need it:
Not only is this a solid and great looking piece of kit but it also has all the functionality a pro could want, while still being easy to learn with for beginners. It features an ‘auto-beat-match’ that lets you see timing visually so every mix can be perfect.
For the pro who needs a little practice it means mixing anywhere with an 18-hour battery life and the ability to save your mixes. It has a 3-band equaliser, loop editor, gain and pitch controls. Special effects are built-in: hi-cut/lo-cut, roll, echo, reverb, Crush, Wah, Delay and Trans. If you understood any of that then you will realise it has detail that many beginners will take months to master. Speaking of beginners, you can even click into a vinyl mode that lets you move a tune back and forward, just like it was a real record – yes, scratching to blag like you know what you're doing.
A line-out means you can literally DJ a whole club from this tiny device. 'Large it'.
