Eames louge chair

Eames louge chair

Apart from the bed, this is mainstay of your ‘60s dominion. Part of the permanent collection in New York’s museum of modern art, the Eames lounge chair and accompanying ottoman footrest are arguably one of the most comfortable places mankind has ever sat. Seriously. Legend has it that Charles and Ray-Bernice Eames designed the chair so that their good friend Billy Wilder could watch films more comfortably. Made of moulded plywood and leather, their design has remained untouched for decades. An original could set you back as much as £5000, but knockoff reproductions are widely available, particularly if you buy Japanese.
