What is it?
The Sony Ericsson Satio, Sony's new flagship touch screen phone and, they hope, their answer to the iPhone. The Satio features an awesome 12.1 megapixel camera, a 16:9 widescreen display and a 3.5 inch screen. It's also got the usual Sony Walkman features as well as being an HSDPA handset (that means 3G). It comes  with a standard 8gb card that can be upgraded to 16gb and 32gb.

What's good about it?

The camera is outstanding: 'Better than my own digital camera' says Neil, one of our hardened and cynical photographers. It also has a great, high-definition screen which is excellent for watching movies and viewing pictures. Sony have said that their aim with this phone is to "bring everything together in one package" - the best of their music, camera and personal office equipment, and that's what they've done. There are plenty of pre-loaded apps, a good internet browser and even the ability to plug your phone into your telly and play movies through it. You know, if the mood takes you.

What's bad about it?

It's not exactly fast. With no music or media loaded onto it, it still takes too long to switch between functions and open folders. The touch screen also works best with a stylus, rather than your finger, which may not be to everyone's taste. That said, you do have a 12 megapixel camera.
