What? Remake of seventies B-movie Death Race 2000 (David Carradine and Sly Stallone).

Plot? Ex-con Jensen Ames (Statham) drives in fight-to-the-death anything-goes 'death race'. The reward? Freedom and his life. Failure? Death, it turns out. Luckily for him, it just so happens he’s an ex-Nascar racer. And he's been convicted for a crime he didn't commit... Do we smell a plotline?

Any good? Ian McShane (Lovejoy) provides a passable American accent for his straight-off-the-rolodex one-liners (“Now that’s entertainment!”) and a number of hire-a-hotties fill in as the racers’ navigators. Oh, and the cars get guns. And armor. And lots of other cool shit.

When? This big bundle of explosions, napalm and miniguns will hit our screens September 26.
