Did you queue for three days when the latest Star Wars film came to your local multiplex? Do you give a damn whether or not Han shot Greedo first? Can you name Chewbacca’s stunt double’s favourite colour?
If you answer ‘yes’ to any of the questions above, then you should probably
get out more. But you should also check out this brand spanking new 6-disc limited edition Star Wars box set. It contains the first three films (the good ones) in their original cinematic glory and also the digitally re-mastered updates that first hit screens back in the late '90s.
Getting the same three films twice is far from a con, as the differences between the editions are pretty staggering: the colours are brighter, the Death Stars bigger and the alien creatures far more convincing. If Pete Doherty were to watch the new versions with a wet sock over his head, they might look something like the fuzzy originals.
If you know your Jawas from your Jabbas, then this set is for you. Even if you have a girlfriend and have never been to a sci-fi convention, these films deserve to be in your DVD collection.
