Stars: Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss, Hugo Weaving, Monica Bellucci

We say: Okay, Matrix Reloaded didn’t live up to the hype and sure, this final part of the trilogy still isn’t as good as the first, but if you want to see what £110m of special effects looks like – and believe us, you do – then this flick is an absolute must see.

Following on from Reloaded, Neo (Keanu Reeves) doesn’t stay in his coma for long. After all, there’s the little matter of a climactic battle between man and machine to take care of, Zion to save, and a final round of Neo vs. Agent Smith(s).

If that’s not enough to sate your thirst for action then you’ll also find Monica Bellucci dressed in rubber (again), some huge battlebots, millions of squid-like killer things (sentinels) and the big boss machine making one final appearance. The story may have lost its edge but trust us, this is one blistering finale.

The Extras: The second disc wisely concentrates on a series of documentaries, detailing the fight scenes and the blowing stuff up bits.
