We say: You can blame this film for the resurgence of clinky-clanky Johnny Cash music, which is either a good thing or a bad thing, depending on your taste. After all, taste: it's subjective, right? That aside, it's an engaging enough film, with particularly strong performances from Phoenix and the Oscar-winning lovely, Reese Witherspoon. Like all great tales of icons, this is excess-a-go-go, as Cash monkeys around with booze, pills and adultery. Good stuff, and of course, the usual commentary and deleted scenes feature as the extras...
