Who? Mr Marlon Brando as Captain Kurtz in his last tumultuous moments.
What's going on? Kurtz has not only touched the heart of darkness but has been consumed by the reality of the humanity that it has revealed to him. Or to put it more simply, he's lost the plot and is ready to start pushing up some daisys.
Why it's great: Marlon Brando used up 8 hours worth of film while free-styling this last scene. He was so immersed in the character that he went for days on set alone not shifting back to reality. He even shaved his head.
