What’s it about? The Greek myth of Perseus, a god raised in the mortal world who embarks on a quest to defeat Hades, god of the underworld.

Reasons to like it? Greek mythology is due a big screen revamp, having not been paid much attention since the days of Ray Harryhausen’s stop-motion animation. The original 1981 movie was a cheesy hoot.

Reason to be wary?
Swords-and-sandals movies can end up very camp.

Nerd fact: The film reunites Schindler’s List stars Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes as Zeus and Hades, again taking the positions of good and evil.
