Who? A cast of unknowns. But it's produced by Peter Jackson, who directed King Kong and the Lord of the Rings movies. So cinematic royalty, basically.

What's it about? On the surface, it's a science fiction. Aliens arrive on Earth in the near future, at which point we promptly shove them into ghettos and don't invite them over for dinner. But, being set in South Africa, it's being hailed by people who wear frameless spectacles and are partial to a skinny latte as a brilliant critique of apartheid. More importantly, it's also got loads of futuristic weapons and some gnarly Independence Day-style scenes with spaceships and helicopters. Sound good? Here's the trailer.

When? It's in cinemas Friday, September 4.
