Inglourious Basterds

What’s it about? It’s a Quentin Tarantino film so, gangsters, ninjas and pithy dialogue, surely? Nope. This is a World War II flick following a group of Jewish-American soldiers. Who apparently can’t spell. Tarantino’s been working on it for a decade, roping in Brad Pitt, Samuel L. Jackson, Mike Myers and gorehound buddy Eli Roth along the way.

Hottest star? French actress Mélanie Laurent appears in her first English language film as vengeful she-Jew Shosanna Dreyfus. She’s 25 and looks like this. Yes, hotter than your girlfriend.

When? August 21
