Restrepo looks like a great film in the same way that Lebanon was a good film. Seems accurate. Seems real. Seems genuine. Restrepo will be even more accurate, real and genuine than Lebanon because it's a ruddy bloody documentary. Too real, maybe.
Not like The Hurt Locker, a film about bomb disposal experts that bomb disposal expert Guy Marot said “appalled” him because it made them look like “hot-headed, irrational adrenaline junkies with no self-discipline”. He added: “It's immensely disrespectful to the many officers who have lost their lives.”
Restrepo won’t do that.
Restrepo is out on October 8.
