The 10 best movie heists of all time
Sexy Beast
The bandits: Eight cockney criminals, headed up by hard-as-nails mobster Teddy Bass, and including a reluctant Gary Dove, played by Ray Winstone.
The loot: The contents of a futuristic, high security vault, owned by a man who may or may not have bummed Teddy at an orgy.
The plan: The front door? Too obvious. Instead, Teddy’s men flood the vault from an adjoining swimming pool, then don diving gear and swim off with cash, jewellery and more.
Does it work? Pretty flawlessly so. Even for Gary, who, despite having his share taken off him for killing Ben Kingsley’s Don Logan, secretly nabs a pair of diamond earrings and buggers off back to Spain.
