The London Astoria’s ten best gigs

Posted by , 20 January 2009 | 0

David Bowie

When? 1999.

Why was it good? Because David Bowie is a worldwide megastar, can pretty much headline any festival he wants, has made some of the best albums ever to be forced into your ears, is worth over £100 million and chose the Astoria for some intimate gigs after a weird decade of misguided electronic experiments. He wasn’t at his peak, sure, but he’s David Bowie. And as a resident of Brixton, London, it was a homecoming of sorts. And it’s always good to see the real, fleshy face of someone that famous.
