Who? Art-rocky Glaswegians led by Alex Kapranos who please the cool kids by sounding like Talking Heads and wearing shabby suits, while simultaneously pumping out party bangers in huge venues across the land.
Why do we care? Because the new album is as consistently excellent as everything they’ve ever done (read the FHM review). They’re going to have a big year. Take Me Out is still their ultimate hit. But new track Ulysses is just as catchy, and could be just as big.
When? Tonight: Franz Ferdinand is out on 26 January. They’re touring in March, and you can expect some major festival appearances in the summer.
