Lily Allen
Who? Lily is the daughter of Keith 'shit-at-almost-everything' Allen. She’s also a tabloid newspaper regular who speaks her mind when she’s got a record coming out, and was the first credible artist to get famous on MySpace.
Why do we care? First album Alright, Still was funny and welcomed by critics and chavvy girls alike, if only for her rhyming of ‘Tesco’ and ‘al fresco’ on the track LDN. Second album It’s Not Me, It’s You will either render her success so far a fluke, or solidify her status as a genuine female British pop hero. She’s touring in March.
Key song? In new single The Fear she says ‘fuck’ quite a lot, sings about fame and fixing the world. Smile remains her biggest hit.
