The Stone Roses Lose It On The Late Show

New York Dolls' 1973 performance of Jet Boy has gone down in history and rightly so: it's a searing mix of glam rock and early punk, they look suitably ridiculous ('mock rock', as it would be called) and Johansen spends most of his time pouting right down the camera lens. They seriously don't do TV performances like this any more.

Best bit: In the breakdown, when the band all clap along to the beat like they're at the best gig of their lives, rather than a sterile TV studio. (0:45)
