The London Astoria’s ten best gigs

Posted by , 20 January 2009 | 0

Radiohead

When? 1994.

Why was it good? Radiohead’s gig at the Astoria, prior to the release of The Bends remains the only gig they’ve ever put to DVD. They’ve since become one of the most innovative bands in the land and a band that punters are happy to splash serious money on seeing. The best thing about it is Thom Yorke’s white hair, grown before he realised that a crew cut and a bit of a beard would do a much better job of not making his strange-shaped head look even weirder. That and hearing Street Spirit for the first time.
