Birdseye Steakhouse Grills

When: 1980s

Words: “Will it be chips or jacket spuds? Will it be salad or frozen peas? Will it be mushrooms? Fried onion rings? You’ll have to wait and see… We hope it’s chips, it’s chips!”

Trivia: Unfortunately, via some cruel twist of fate inflicted by the bosses at Birdseye, no one in the advert was allowed to enjoy chips with the Birdseye Steakhouse Grills they were given as payment. They had to endure the mushrooms and peas they prophesised in the ad. And actors who didn’t work hard enough were given broccoli.
