Last week, we brought you the news that the football season is back. And wasn’t it just lovely? It brought a case of beer, wiped its feet, gave us a firm handshake and entertained us for hours with a flurry of shock results, controversial refereeing decisions, goalkeeping hilarity and Blackpool winning a game.

We also brought you the best blog for each of the London teams. And, if you were paying attention, you’ll remember we promised a little treat for fans of Midlands clubs. Well, unlike the England team, more like expensive antiperspirant, we NEVER let you down:

ASTON VILLA - The Villa Blog
Scarily well-produced, comprehensive, passionate and popular. If TheVillaBlog was in the Premier League, it’d be top four every season.
Did you know?
This is Villa’s 100th season in the top-flight; the only club to have been there longer is Everton (107 seasons). Consequently, Villa v Everton is the most played fixture in English top-flight football.

BIRMINGHAM CITY - Joys and Sorrows
Less boring news, more entertaining things that are actually worth reading. Sounds like a publication we know and love…
Did you know?
Birmingham were the first recipients of a £1m transfer fee, when Trevor Francis moved to Nottingham Forest in 1979.

WEST BROM - West Bromwich Albion Mad
“Vote now for your man of the match against Chelsea”. Man of the match in a game you       lost 6-0? Always on the bright side, these Baggies.
Did you know?
West Brom were founder members of the Football League, finishing the 1888-89 season in sixth place out of twelve teams.

WOLVES - Wolves Blog
“I’ll stick my head above the parapet for the sake of a blog and a good old chinwag,” Wolvesblog’s got an opinion on everything and loves to share it. A bit like that old bloke in the corner of the pub, nursing his 11am bitter. Except people pay attention to Wolvesblog. And it doesn’t smell like cats soaked in urine.
Did you know?
Wolves are fourth in the all-time league table, behind Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal.

Newcastle and Sunderland fans love an excuse for a good argument. Next week: who's got the best blog in the North-East? And "Titus Bramble's really shit." "No he's not." "He really is." "No he... oh I suppose he is, really."
