The Kray Twins

The Kray Twins

The Kray Twins: Ronnie and Reggie Kray ruled London’s underworld during the sixties as well as its social scene, becoming celebrities in their own right. They pulled off a string of armed robberies, had their photos taken by David Bailey, gave television interviews and generally lived it up with the likes of Frank Sinatra. All told, if you imagine them as cheery Guy Ritchie-esque rogues rather than the violent career criminals that they really were, you could be forgiven for aspiring to their heights at one point in your life.

Like all good things - and, in this case, a bad thing - this partnership eventually came to an end when both brothers were sentenced to life in prison in 1969. Still, there was a film made about them starring Martin and Gary Kemp - the two brothers from Spandau Ballet - so it's not all bad, eh boys?
