The World Cup draw has finally been completed, dunking England in a testing, but hopefully beatable, group.

Playing in Group D, England will compete against Italy, Uruguay and Costa Rica in the early tournament stages.

Here are five facts for you to trade in the pub to make you seem like a World Cup genius this weekend…

01  Uruguay hosted and won the first ever FIFA World Cup, way back in 1930. England didn’t even qualify.

02  Out of all the other teams in Group D, England have the worst record against Italy, having only won eight of their 24 games since 1933, drawing seven and losing nine.

03  Despite that fact, counting all of their previous meetings, England have managed to put the ball in the back of the net more times than their Italian rivals, with 30 goals to Italy's 27.

Costa Rica are the most successful team in Central America, having qualified for four World Cups, including making the final 16 in their first 1990 appearance in Italy.

05  England’s Gary Lineker is the fourth highest goal scorer in a World Cup tournament ever, with 10 goals. Ronaldo is first with 15.
