Arctic Monkeys - July 6

Arctic Monkeys - July 6

Tight. Impressive. Banging. No, not FHM's body after a particularly rigorous pre-beach training regime, but a description of the Arctic Monkeys' performance to a packed Roundhouse on Wednesday.

Effortlessly blending old classics with new ahead of headline spots at V and Benicassim, Alex Turner and his frosty primate pals wowed an energetic crowd and showed once again why they're Britain's biggest band.

A-Turn offered little chat but, as ever, was ably supported by rare breed Matt Helders, a drummer with talent and charisma worthy of a front stage berth.

Having lapped up every note and belted out every lyric, a satisfied crowd piled out into a windy Camden after a performance that could only have been bettered had Alexa Chung done a sexy little striptease during closing number 505. (She didn't.)
