Noah and the Whale - July 24

Noah and the Whale - July 24

Fitting, really, that on the first day the bastard sun decides to grace us with his “ooh look at me giving you warmth and life” arrogant presence, the Roundhouse plays host to a band whose jingly jangly whistle-while-you-worky tunes are the musical embodiment of barbecue weather.

Charlie Fink and co largely ignored their somewhat darker second album, instead heavily favouring the most recent Last Night on Earth, and looking like they were having a cracking time in the process.

Noah and the Whale are never going to blow the roof off a venue, leaving you with no shoes and a broken nose, but for a nice little post-sunny Sunday treat, they fit the bill perfectly. Like marshmallows.
