Of course, we're not daft: the whole, "I can't even bring myself to say your team's name" angle obviously allows this Ted promo video to be re-used for pretty much any inter-team grudge match in the world. There are probably Chicago Bears fans watching it right now, chuckling, "Haw-haw, the Detroit Lions just got totally served by that teddy bear!" (and vice-versa).

Saying that, Mr MacFarlane's clever ruse to get England supporters on-side for the release of his debut feature film Ted (out August 1) is pretty ingenious, and to be honest, we'll take any France-dissing we can get on our hands on right now – and if it has to come from a CGI child's toy, then so be it.
