The Academy Awards have always proved a little bit of a struggle for UK fans to get hold of. For starters, we've always had to delve into the darkest recesses of the internet for a bit of casual streaming. Plus the fact that it doesn't start until the early hours of the morning, being US time and all.

Fortunately, it's being shown on Sky Movies own Oscars channel this year. We haven't quite figured out how we're going to survive the 1:30 till 4am show, though. Here's six things that'll be keeping us motivated...

01 Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence
We've already proclaimed her to be the perfect woman after this year's BAFTAs. She's up for the Best Actress award for The Silver Linings Playbook and will no doubt be looking ridiculously hot in a slinky dress.

02 Ben Affleck
and Argo

Poor old Ben. His reputation really took a hammering when he took part in a series of questionable films, including Gigli in 2003 with then-squeeze Jennifer Lopez. Can he bag the massive Best Picture Oscar for Argo and return to his former glory days à la Good Will Hunting? Argo is out on DVD, Blu-ray and Digital download March 4 and you can pre-order it here.

03 Seth MacFarlane

Seth Macfarlane
A surprise choice for host of such a lavish occasion. Of course, there is a chance he'll probably perform some kind of musical number. We can forgive that, as long as he spends the rest of the show making hilarious jokes and humiliating Hollywood's finest.

04 Lincoln
The Abraham Lincoln drama has been nominated for an incredible 12 Oscars. Will it pull off a similar triumph to Slumdog Millionaire, which took home nine little golden men back in 2009? We mean the statues, of course...

05 Quvenzhané Wallis

Quevenzhane Walis
She's the youngest nominee in Oscar history at just 9-years-old. We don't really fancy her chances but we just want to see her acceptance speech.

06 The world's hottest women in one place

Jennifer Aniston, Charlize Theron and Sandra Bullock

Some of the award presenters include Jennifer Aniston, Sandra Bullock and Charlize Theron. Welcome back, ladies, we've missed you...
