Behold, people who like football boots, the new, bright freakin’ orange ball-kickers from adidas. They’ll be worn, from February 15, by two-time Ballon D’Or winner Lionel Messi, as well as Spurs’ hot-property - but currently crocked – Gareth Bale.

They weigh just 150g, which is probably (although we can’t be sure) less than a doughnut. Messi, who’s very good at football, but also knows how to party, has scored 40 goals wearing adidas boots this season. Jermain Defore, also wearing adidas boots, has scored just 5, but that’s because he hurt his ankle and doesn’t play for Barcelona.

The other thing to point out about the new boots is that they’ve got different coloured studs that are both pointier and more triangley than normal stud and laces that look like glass noodles. Glass noodles that are black.
