New this spring, Burberry Sport is the label’s new modernist-casual diffusion line influenced by sailing and wilderness kit. Guided by creative director Christopher Bailey since 2001, the British design house boasts many credentials in the performance gear arena. It started out making equipment for explorers and other men of reputation in 1856 and their iconic Trench coat was field-tested in WWI.

Yorkshireman Bailey’s striking but fuss-free ethic is evident in the range, which uses a Burberry colour scheme of navy, red, black and white. Performance-wear influences such as laser-sealed seams are de rigueur. As popular as the windcheaters will no doubt be, our favourite is the techie shorts. It’d also be churlish not to add that Burberry Sport is surprisingly reasonably priced.
