These days there's a very fine line between 'sportswear' and 'clothes that you wear for sport' and quite frankly, we're not sure where it lies anymore. Take the shoes you see on the screen before you, for example. They look like something you might find in the shoe section at an upmarket fashion store, don't they? Maybe somewhere like Folk or Oliver Spencer. But, believe it or not, they're made by Nike.
The shoes are called the Air Ralston Mid Lite are they're Nike Sportswear's take on the classic desert boot - with a twist. They feature a premium raw suede upper, white gum sole, and Nike Air unit in the heel. Available in three neutral colourways, the Air Ralston Mid Lites are smart enough to wear on a night out, and comfortable enough to walk in for hours on end. We may not know our sneakers from our slippers anymore, but we do know that these make perfect sense.
Available globally in limited quanities from August 2011.
