Summer doesn’t have to mean garish prints and bright colours trousers with even brighter socks – sometimes the most simple things can be the most effective.

Take Superga – an Italian brand who started out specializing in tennis shoes. They opened a new store in London’s Covent Garden last month, and their simple white canvas trainers have knocked Converse off the top of our versatile footwear list*.

Sure, they’ve branched out into brogues, boat shoes and er, wellies, but we think their 2750 Classic is as versatile as footwear gets. Looking polished with rolled-up chinos and casual with  distressed denim, these trainers are sturdier than a flimsy plimsoll and still made from light, breathable cotton.
