10 ways to burglar-proof your property

Introduction

Every 37 seconds, a British house is burgled. And if you’ve yet to be broken into, the bad news is that the figures are against you. The majority of us will, at some point in our lives, be faced with some sort of domestic intrusion.

And if it happens, there’s a 20% chance you’ll be there at the time. Most likely duct-taped to a door, as a couple of tearaways tuck your PS3 under their arm and take a shit on your Ikea rug. In a truly severe case, you’ll then end up on YouTube under the heading “check dis dikkhead me and charlie rinsed boi!” or some other grammatical abomination. Scared? You should be.

Thankfully, help is at hand. FHM spoke to reformed burglar Michael Fraser (keeping one eye on our wallet, naturally) to find out the quickest, easiest ways to keep your stuff secure. He’s a man who’s been there, broken in and nicked the T-shirt. And crucially, he knows how burglars think. So listen good.
