New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara had a sensational rookie year during the 2017 season, where he gained a 1,554 total offensive yards, earned a Pro Bowl invite and won the league's NFL Rookie of the Year Award. As a third-round pick last year, it's safe to say that Kamara outperformed where he was drafted, taking the NFL by storm to form a two-headed monster with fellow running back Mark Ingram.
As someone who had to prove himself and work his ass off to crack the starting lineup and earn playing time, Alvin Kamara knows he can't get lazy when it comes to putting in the work to stay there. But, after seeing part of his training routine online, well, one might want to check to make sure that he's not absolutely insane. Just look at the video Kamara posted of himself working out yesterday, which, as the headline says, includes him pulling a F'in Jeep while holding a weight rack... with weights on it!
Uh, what? Forget about the fact that Alvin Kamara is casually holding a weight rack with weights as if it were nothing at all and let's talk about the Jeep Wrangler that the running back is hauling behind him. Something tells me this Kamara routine isn't really that safe or recommended, but, hey, who am I to judge?
If this is what it takes to be an NFL player these days, good luck to all you out there hoping to make the league, because most human bodies aren't designed to do this. Then again, pro athletes aren't typically engineered like normal people. Lest we forget the NFL training routine of another workout beast, James Harrison, who crushes the weight room like you or I crush a bag of potato chips.
As long as Alvin Kamara keeps doing things like this, there's a high probability that he's going to keep bulldozing his way over helpless defenders. Let's just hope he doesn't hurt himself pulling a Wrangler, though, because that'd be one of the more gnarly sports injuries we've ever seen.
