Standing tall at a staggering 7'4" and weighing in at 520 pounds, Andre The Giant will forever be one of pro-wrestling's greatest talents. His life and legacy continue to fascinate fans all over the world to this day and that's why when we got wind that HBO would be releasing a new documentary on this legend, well, we just had to share it with you guys. For those of you unfamiliar with Andre, he passed away back in 1993 of congestive heart failure. He was only 46 years old at the time, but up until that point he lived an incredibly fascinating life.
Below, HBO released a 2-minute clip of an upcoming documentary (co-produced by the Bill Simmons Media group) on Andre's life. It details the many aspects of his unique struggles, both as a man and wrestler.
Having suffered from, "acromegaly" or "giantism" his entire life, Andre didn't experience the same things average people did. He was quite literally larger than life — from his personality to his acting to his presence in the ring. Many of the things that made him such a delight to watch, were the very things that caused his demise.
That being said, he managed to entertain crowds all over the world for years! For that reason, he is dearly missed. HBO will releasing this documentary come April 10, 2018.
