As if you needed a friendly reminder not to BASE jump, this video provides one, because even a professional wild man like Eric Dossantos found out the hard way that some leaps aren't meant to be made—and he's lucky to still be alive.

Dossantos—who filmed himself during a jump on Sept. 29th in Chamonix, France, which saw him reach speeds of 90 miles per hour—wound up crashing into a bunch of trees during the attempt, leaving him with a left scapula fracture, left acromian fracture, left neck abrasion, left clavicle fracture, 3 left side rib fractures, left hemopneumothorax, grade 1, liver laceration, head trauma, multiple scalp lacerations, according to the GoFundMe campaign that's looking to raise money for his recovery.

Following the intense flight and near-life-ending experience, Eric Dossantos took to Facebook to post this message to friends, family and fans to thank them for the support as he recovers.

While the footage was incredible from the helmet he had on during his BASE jump, Dossantos is lucky to be alive and is a pro at these types of things, so let's not see anyone else attempt this—because this is just insane.
