Unless you knew somebody who knew somebody, there's a good chance that you weren't able to snag yourself one of the NES Classic Edition consoles when they first dropped on November 11th. Don't fret, though, because instead of paying hundreds of dollars online for one, Best Buy has got you covered—assuming you fight the crowds for one.
That's because the electronics giant just announced that, this Tuesday, December 20th, the NES Classic Edition console will be available in more than 1,000 big box stores across the United States. The item will be in store, though, so play hooky from work and make sure you snag one, because the console will not be available online at BestBuy.com.
According to its website, Best Buy had this to say about the release:
“The NES Classic Edition will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis,” the retailer explains on its website. “Just like on Black Friday, our stores will have a ticketing process for customers waiting in line. We will only pass out as many tickets as we have consoles available, and we’ll have a limit of one per customer.”
In addition to the console, Best Buy also said that there will be limited supply of accessories to go along with the NES Classic Edition, mentioning extra controllers and, potentially, cases and extensions cords, too.
So, if you're willing to battle Black Friday-like crowds just five days before Christmas, you can score the most coveted electronics gift this holiday season.
