Four little words, one iconic scene: "Buzz, your girlfriend… WOOF!" will forever go down as one of the greatest Home Alone movie moments of the entire franchise, and honestly, of any movie, like, ever. Macaulay Culkin's timing, inflection, facial expression — it was nothing short of acting genius. We can't be certain if he originated the "WOOF", but he definitely perfected it and that's all that matters.
For those of you who have yet to watch Home Alone this holiday season, go ahead and take a look at the scene we're referring to. No matter how long it's been or how old we've gotten, it never fails to make us laugh. We hope y'all feel the same way!
See what we mean? Comedic gold that Macaulay Culkin, just comedic gold. It's a real shame he went off the rails there for a bit — that's not the subject of this article though, don't worry. We came across the backstory behind Buzz's girlfriend and we just had to share it with you guys. According to David Ratray, the actor who played Buzz:
"[They] decided it would be unkind to put a girl in that role of just being funny-looking. The art director had a son who was more than willing to volunteer for the part. I think if he had known it would become the highest-grossing family comedy of all time, he might have had second thoughts about it."
There you F'in have it! Buzz's girlfriend was Buzz's boyfriend all along! That certainly explains a whole lot about the photograph. Can we just also say kudos to the makers of Home Alone for not putting a girl in the position to be "WOOF'd" for the rest of her life, that was mighty gentlemanly of them. Home Alone forever, y'all.
