On July 20, 2017, FHM reported the devastating passing of Linkin Park frontman, Chester Bennington — he was 41 years old. His death sent shockwaves through the music community and rest assured, his absence is felt deeply by the fans, family, and fellow performers he left behind. Chester was an incredible musician, known for his unwavering ability to pour his entire heart and soul into every song, album, and performance he worked on. This fact was widely-known and perhaps appreciated most by the musicians who were fortunate enough to collaborate with him.

"The performance marked the first time the rapper played that rendition of The Black Album track since 2011. The V Festival set was also Jay-Z's first full performance of 2017 and came one day before the one-month anniversary of Bennington's July 20th death."

Chester will not be forgotten so long as those he touched with his music remember to keep his spirit alive — Jay-Z did just that. We encourage all of his fans to do the same! Chester was survived by his wife and six children. Linkin Park has since made the decision to cancel their national tour, understandably. Many band members have come forward to share memories, as the one seen above. We continue to offer our condolences during this difficult time.

Remember, if you or someone you know is struggling and is contemplating hurting themselves or suicide, please seek help by calling the National Suicide Prevention Hotline.
