You might recall that Deadpool included a funny montage featuring the hero (Ryan Reynolds) and girlfriend Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) "celebrating" the holidays. The first official poster for Deadpool 2 arrived back in November, celebrating families getting together, as shared via Reynolds' twitter feed. Now, Reynolds is back with a second poster for the highly-anticipated superhero flick, and man, we've got to say, it might just be more hilarious than the first.
While we haven't had many details about the movie's story — beyond the addition of Josh Brolin's Cable and Zazie Beetz' Domino — the original poster confirms the return of TJ Miller as Weasel along with some of the other Deadpool cast. We're honestly not sure what a Deadpool Thanksgiving would actually look like, but probably a bit bloodier than this.
Deadpool 2 Movie Posters
As far as the second poster, it doesn't reveal, well, anything about the movie itself. That said, it's an incredibly accurate homage (with a twist, of course) to the 1983 classic film, Flashdance. It's safe to say, whether you choose to admit it or not, that you've seen Flashdance a time or two in your day, but, if you're having a hard time remembering the iconic scene Deadpool is alluding to in the poster below, you can go ahead and watch it on YouTube, here, you're welcome!
Instead of water, Deadpool is bathing himself in bullets — because, really, would it make sense any other way? If nothing else, the marketing campaign for the film has been flawless. Do y'all remember the Bob Ross teaser that dropped in November? Now that was a classic! Leave it to Deadpool to take a seemingly innocent painting tutorial and make it dirty!
Meet Cable Teaser Trailer
Beyond the new movie poster, we get to take a closer look at Josh Brolin's (also starring as Thanos, the big bad of the third Avengers film, Infinity War, coming in May of this year) badass character, Cable. We knew from the final seconds of the original film, during Deadpool's parody of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, that a villain would be featured in the sequel! We're glad Deadpool made good on his promise. Given the trailer below, Cable looks like one scary dude.
As for the movie itself, the madness was moved up from June 1! Now landing on May 18 of this year. Needless to say, we can't freakin' wait. As mentioned above, Infinity War is dropping on May 4. It looks as if there's going to be a literal battle of good vs. evil at the box office! We're not complaining though! More movies for us, right?
