Get Ready For A 'Deadpool' Animated Series To Hit TV Screens In 2018

If you haven't seen Deadpool I have a couple of questions for you. The first being, why the f-ck did you click on this article? The second being, do you live under a rock?

Deadpool was easily one of the best movies of 2016, regardless of genre—point blank, period. Ryan Reynolds gave an incredible anti-hero performance as Wade Wilson/Deadpool. He BECAME that character. Hell, he IS that character.

As someone who sincerely does not enjoy that sort of hokey Superman/Spiderman/Hulk mumbo-jumbo, Deadpool is the perfect antithesis. I do happen to deeply love Batman (specifically Christian Bale), but we can save that for another article. What I mean to say is that I could never be classified as an "expert" on ANY of this stuff. I don't know my Marvel from my DC. It doesn't make me a crappy person, it just makes me limited. We're all flawed.

My preferred genres are true crime and drama, or even a hybrid of the two if I'm lucky. If I like Deadpool, you can too. It's on HBO every other hour, you have no excuse!

Anyway, back to the good stuff! As per Maxim—"FXX has announced that Deadpool is getting his own animated series on their network, courtesy of Marvel and the uber-talented Donald Glover. FX has ordered ten episodes for the first season of the as-yet-untitled series that launches in 2018."

I'm actually listening to Red Bone off the new Childish Gambino album as I type, so again, I'm beyond smitten with this news.

The New York Times writes—"FX suggested that the series will be tonally similar, describing it as an “animated adult action-comedy.” The show joins a robust field of Marvel TV adaptations, including FX’s “Legion,” as well as the Netflix series “Luke Cage,” “Jessica Jones,” “Daredevil,” “Iron Fist” and, coming soon, “The Defenders.”
