In the event you live under an actual rock and you're unaware of what "Squad Goals" are, let me go ahead and throw the definition your way. According to Urban Dictionary—
(skwäd/ɡōl) (noun) (plural noun: squad goals): an inspirational term for what you’d like your group of friends to be or accomplish. Used best when placed at the end of a directional statement. "I think on Saturday we should go see Bao Bao, at the National Zoo. She is so funny when she eats all of that bamboo, Squad Goals."
Essentially the concept of Squad Goals existed long before there was an actual term to apply to it. Sort of like, "on fleek" (except on point already existed). Moving forward, now that we all know what a squad is, it's about time we got to talking about the most kickass ones movie history has ever seen. Well, maybe not so much movie history, but at the very least, the ones I deem worthy. Additionally, kickass has a very varied meaning in my book, it's not just about fighting bad guys.
So, as you saw, that was a very diverse group of squads. You had your classic squads with The Sandlot, The Goonies, and Stand By Me followed by your #GirlBoss squads with Clueless and Bring It On and of course, the squad to end all squads, Entourage. Which yes, I know was predominantly a television show, but it was also a pretty dope movie—don't get too technical, people. Life's too short, ya know?
At the end of the day, the best we can hope for is one good friend, but who knows, maybe you'll find yourself living the squad dream in one these falsified Hollywood realities.
