Look around and there's a good chance that you'll see a handful of gorgeous women around you. But when you find a pretty lady who also happens to be a funny woman — like actress and comedian Alex Rose Wiesel is — well, she stands out a little bit more than the rest. Obviously, that's what happened to us, as we were introduced to Alex and, boom, just like that, her energy and outgoing personality hit us like a ton of bricks. Oh, it didn't hurt that she's drop dead gorgeous, too!
Some of you may recognize Alex Rose Wiesel from her time on the former CW series Hart of Dixie. More recently, she just shot a new film entitled In Vino, which is a comedic thriller. Clearly, the funny woman is a jack-of-all-trades, taking on a number of different roles.
In addition to her acting career, the 29-year-old blonde has also done too many things to keep up with. From getting her masters degree to performing stand up comedy and, yep, even teaching at one point, it's pretty obvious that Alex can pretty much do anything she wants to. Don't worry, we're pretty jealous with all of her talents, too.
We had the chance to chat with the actress and comedian to pick her brain and find out more about her, so she what Alex had to say below. Oh, and the answer is yes, she did smile the entire time.
I Have An Advanced Degree. My parents both attended graduate school with a masters and doctorate, and the guy I was dating at the time had a doctorate, so, in 2015, I went back to school to get my masters degree in the ever so useful field of Theatre Studies. While attending, I paid for classes by teaching Actors & Acting in the California State University system. I think my class was too easy, almost everyone got an ‘A'.
I’m An Improv Nerd! I studied at the recently deceased school of iO West in Los Angeles, where I performed with my all-female comedy troupe Pumps weekly for two years. To make things even nerdier, I used my musical theater skills to write parody songs for my girls and I to record in studio and make funny music videos. Check them out on YouTube or our webpage. I think I gravitated towards improv because it helped me let go of my type-A personality. It’s all made up on the spot, so what better way is there to just let go?!
I Learned My Biggest Acting Trick From My 9th Grade AP English Teacher (Who Was A Former Double Mint Twin). While we were reading scenes from Shakespeare, she told us that anything you say aloud six times will be memorized in your head forever. I don’t know if that’s true, but ever since that course and though my entire career, I’ve always memorized lines by staying them aloud six times.
There's Nothing Sexier Than A Man Who Knows How To Take Care Of A Lady. While I love being an independent woman, and I'm fiercely independent, there's nothing sexier. A provider kind of guy is the biggest turn on in the world for me. If you’ll change a lightbulb, get angry if I pay for dinner, walk with me when I take the dog out for safety, or fill my car up with gas, you’re a keeper.
My Family Is The Most Important Thing In The World To Me. My biggest fear is losing someone in my immediate family. In the past couple years, my father had a heart attack while I was at a wedding in St. Louis and my mom was hit by a car while crossing the street, right in front of me. Those were the two most terrifying moments of my life.
I Have The Most Perfect Animal In The World. A perfect dog friend of mine rescued off the streets of Compton five years ago (and I adopted), named Victoria Barkham. She is a reflection of myself in adorable 12-pound Chihuahua form. Over the past five years, she’s been my ride or die, through apartments, travel, boyfriends, and all that. She’s seen it all, has her own hashtag on Instagram (#VictoriaBarkham) and is still the best cuddler I’ve ever met."
I Love The Ocean. I grew up in a beach town in San Diego, and while I, unfortunately, don’t live by the beach now, I definitely appreciate it when I can make it out there. I’m a water sign, a Cancer; I know, like the worst astrological sign to say aloud. But so much of it I vibe with. Being crazy passionate about getting sh*t done, yet being loyal and extremely empathetic to others. Not only can I get along with just about anyone, but I’m always the one who people will ask to take their picture or ask for directions. There’s only a couple people in the world I don’t like, but I bet even they wouldn’t know it.
